One man’s view of the outdoors.

This title used to say “of the World” but that was a little pretentious and depressing. I am not about to share my view of the World. I’ll confine my imagery to the great outdoors and the natural World.

Stuck at home I took my macro into the garden and played with this bottle brush. Then I used Helicon Focus to stack a few images. There are a lot of flowers coming out so hopefully I will have mastered this technique by the time house arrest is over.
Another focus stacked wild flower. Mealy Sage (Salvia farnacea) growing behind my fence. At full magnification this is a very complex struture.
CTA GT World Challenge 2020 Austin Texas. I took a lot of photos of cool cars but I was drawn to this one and wanted to posterize it. It would have been better if they had been heading towards me but I think this has some merrit.
South Padre Island, Texas

Junction City Park. In 2018 this park on the South Llano River was washed away in a serious flood. The RV park was washed away with loss of life. It's back up and running but looks very different. The flood reached the road bridge in this photo.
Cotter bridges over the White River Arkansas
Barton Springs is empty. All the dams are full and the rivers overflowing but no place to swim. Finally a pretty day.
Canyon Lake, Texas. Testing the panorama setting sof the Mavic Pro. It makes orthogonal panoramas, the horixontal one is from 9 images, but I fdid this manually in Lightroom. I prefer this. I have more freedom. This is a 9500x5000 file. Not bad for a drome
Bee Mountain, Study Butte, Texas. I think this is Bee Mountain at least. As you can see from the houses, this is a big chunk of rock sticking out of the desert. This was taken from 400ft elevation and is a panorama of 2 shots.
Cotter bridge, low angle. Not all drone shots need to be from 400ft. This is an angle you can't get without a drone though.
